The GRE consists of an Analytical Writing section that contains one essay question, two Verbal sections that contain 12 and 15 multiple-choice questions, and two Quantitative sections that contain 12 and 15 multiple-choice questions.
Test Format
PTE Academic is conducted entirely on a computer at authorized test centers. It assesses the four key language skills:

- Range: Scores are reported on a scale from 10 to 90 points for the overall test, communicative skills (speaking, writing, reading, and listening), and enabling skills (grammar, oral fluency, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, and written discourse).
- Automated Scoring: The PTE Academic uses an automated scoring system. Speaking and writing responses are scored based on their content, language, organization, and development. Listening and reading responses are scored for correctness.
- Detailed Score Report: Test takers receive a detailed score report that outlines their performance across all sections of the test.
